ESP Podcast MTB Clinic f/Jeremiah Bishop Details!

We are gearing up for this weekends clinic. Right now things look great weather-wise, with temps near 60 degrees! We are looking for a 9:30 am start Saturday morning, which, as things often workout, will be closer to 10 am once we get done with intro’s and other stuff; I will have general release forms to sign the morning of and some shwag, as well. Registration info is here.
SATURDAY: 9:30 am
We will be meeting in downtown Richmond (parking is free on Saturday’s, and we can probably accommodate “bike parking” in the garage area. I would bring your cycling kit with you to change. We will meet at the VCN office. The best bet is to take EXIT 75 I64 merge and then the 3rd st exit for the Coliseum. We will have hot coffee at the ready!
The tentative schedule will be:
9:30 – 12 pm – Discussion of what, why and how of skills. We’ll also have some Q & A on one of the most important determinants of MTB performance, tires and tire pressure. This will set us up for the skills portion in the afternoon.
If you’re not running tubeless tires, please drop me an email.
12 – 1 pm – Lunch discussion. We will have veggie chile for lunch and we’ll have plenty of water/drink to fill up your bottles before the ride.
1:30 pm – Leave for ride; the trails and skills area is about a 5 min ride from our location, though you may drive and park down the stree from here.
1:30 – ~4:30 pm – Skills and trails. There’s a lot to work on here, and some trails we can practice on as well.
Dinner is optional. We will meet at Station 2 located on E. Main St. at 6:30 pm. Parking is a bit challenging, so look for side streets.
Sunday: 9:30 am – 1 pm or so.
Sunday will be an applied skills session at Pocahontas State Park about 30 min south of Richmond. We will start at 10 am sharp and review skills and drills prior to hitting the trails. During the ride we may stop at various challenging areas and take some video, however, this will also be a change to get some ride time in!
I’ll be sure to have some hot coffee for after the ride. Also, your shwag bags will include an assortment of Gu gels, Honey Stinger waffles and some other ride food, but bring any preferred food with you.
Please contact me with any questions! Jeremiah and I look forward to seeing you this weekend.
